Yet another involved story I have to post about...
I'm still working through it, but I was helping out the international umbrella organization of my Asian boys club by co-moderating their e-mail list, and I got fired yesterday, but here's the catch - they said I wasn't following the rules for what was allowable and what wasn't, but they never told me what those rules were before! The first time I heard of them was after I got an auto-generated e-mail saying "your status has been changed from Moderator to member." I am SO pissed off. Needless to say, I'm composing a lengthy letter (which I will put the highlights of here) that I'm sending to the governing body, which oversees the website and e-mail list, and the guy who runs it. It's not that I want him to get in trouble (although he fully admits now he was wrong to knee-jerk so quickly), but it's a pretty lousy way for an organization that is sustained by its volunteer members to treat the people who actually volunteer.
Argh. And they wanted me to get more involved on an international level - shaaa! As if!
Once I'm finished the letter, I'll put a complete entry up on the whole thing. Boring for most of you, but cathartic for me.
