But on the other hand...

On the one hand, a California judge is forcing the Prop 8 folks to actually prove that the state is actually grieved by the existence of same sex marriages (HINT: Their answer was, "I don't know"):

On the other hand, certain UK journalists are using Stephen Gately's death to promote their own personal anti-gay agendas (or, as she calls it, a "dangerous lifestyle"):

I swear, sometimes humanity gives me gas...

"There are things we can't know, that's my point," Cooper said. "The people of California are entitled to step back and let the experiment unfold in Massachusetts and other places, to see whether our concerns about the health of marital unions have either been confirmed or perhaps they have been completely assuaged.""

Been answered. Massachusetts has the lowest divorce rate in the United States. Marital Unions (cough) are healthier here than they are anywhere else in the States.

Yay MA! But, still, what, exactly, are their "concerns about the health of marital unions?" I'm glad this judge is putting the screws to them to STFU about their religious indignation and actually present some concrete evidence.

Charlie Brooker of the Guardian has already taken Jan Moir to task for her absurd and thinly veiled gaybashery: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/oct/16/stephen-gately-jan-moir
