Although I should be doing some more sewing, I was inspired by fosveny in suba_al_hadid's LJ. :)

Is that picture from Kids In The Hall, by any chance? (It is Dave Foley, no?)

One of my all-time favorites from the Kids. :)

For some reason, I'm shocked that you would enjoy that kind of humour. Shocked, I say! :P

(There was a teensy chance that we might have been able to get them to perform at Worldcon this year... I found out that one of the guests I was working with at Polaris is doing costumes for them for an upcoming show. I'd been turned down five times now Opening Ceremonies entertainment, so I thought, "hm, if I don't ask, I won't get," so I asked her. She passed along the question to Kevin McCulloch, but unfortunately, the con coincides with the shooting schedule for their new show. :( )

Why shocked? I admit I don't find them side-splitting hilarious all the time, but they're clever and witty and have a Monty Python-esqueness about them that I appreciate. (I am both fannish and a SCAdian, after all!)

I remember when galtine1 was looking at hotels for Westercon she went out to one of the Indian reservations waaaaaay out in the boonies, and they mentioned they had a performance space and would work with them to book an act the con attendees might enjoy. Kiddingly she said, "How about 'Weird Al' Yankovic," and the guy said, "Sure, we've had him out here before..." Agog! But it was way too far out in the desert, so it didn't happen. It would have been pretty awesome, though!

And a new show, you say? How neat is that!

I wasn't really shocked... it was just a little speech impediment. ;)

Having Weird Al at a Westercon would have been amazing. I'm surprised he hasn't performed at cons - they'd be right up his alley, and fans are usually pretty good about not swarming the celebrities (though while I was outside during Polaris with cuteteenboy and Michael Hogan wandered up and started chatting with us - I'd stage-managed the Constellation Awards ceremony, where he won for Best Performance By An Actor In A Television Episode, so he recognized me - we had about a dozen people around us within seconds).

And as for the new show - it's pretty cool, I agree. I don't know if it's a one-off special or a series, though - I was too worried about making sure all our Repo! The Genetic Opera events were coming together to really chat with her about it. (The guest in question was Alex Kavanagh, the costume designer.)
