I suddenly have the urge to watch The Abominable Dr. Phibes. Anyone ever see it?

The title sounds vaguely familiar, but I don't believe I've ever seen it. It sounds baaaaaad. In a good way, of course. :)

Oh yes.

And the sequel. Giant deadly clockwork scorpion bed.

Such a perfect cameo. He was amazing at playing both sinister and grandfatherly types.

Here's the mini-review I wrote after watching the Dr. Phibes movies: Vincent Price doing what he does best: chewing up the scenery as a psychotic villain. The first one is excellent. The sequel is a bit TOO campy and over-the-top.

Sounds like a NetFlix adder (if we'd only send back the ones we never watch).

Netflix has them both on one DVD.

I loved Phibes (and its sequel) when I first saw them, but a more recent viewing proved difficult to sit through--it was slow and the organ music has become more grating over time. I might give it another shot in a few years.

Uh...nope.
Is Dr. Phibes in any way related to Mr. Pibb?
