Fuzzy goodness!

Cats are home, but surprisingly acted up at the kennel (much more to post about this weekend). Prince was pretty wigged out when we left them on Thursday, so I'm guessing the unfamiliar surroundings and unfamiliar other cats made him antsy. Still, it was a good barometer of what they can and can't handle for other upcoming trips, such as Pennsic if we need to board them. And we missed them so!

Also, thanks to everyone who replied about Posh's recent behavior. We did get her to the vet, and it turns out she had crystals, but not yet a full-blown UTI. Some medication and special diet seems to be doing the trick. Now we'll just see if she's mad enough to do it on purpose... ;)

More later! :P

They obtain a urine sample from the cat... And hopefully wear protective gear while doing so, since it's not usually a pleasant experience for the cat.

Exactly the way you think they do... with a catheter.

Although if you have something the cat has peed on, you can bring it in and they can look at it and see if there are crystals (you can actually do this yourself, just hold it up to the light, the crystals will sparkle).

As buddykat said, catheter. In our specific case, they actually used a needle to extract urine directly from her bladder, I think just through her side, but Q's the one that actually took her.
