Interesting...

So I was asked if I wanted to chair Conjecture 2009. Huh.

But. Um. Wouldn't it be kind of difficult to run the meetings from 3000 MILES AWAY?

That, of course, was the interesting part. :)

Are you planning to be back in SD to chair Conjecture 2009?

We are planning to be back in SD. We don't know if we'll be back in time to chair Conjecture 2009. 'Tis an interesting proposition, though.

No, no, I wasn't offered it on a plate or anything - I was asked if I would consider putting a bid together by Dave Bloom, since he knew we were heading back sometime in the next year or so and they didn't think they were going to get many bids for 2009 and wanted to make sure Conjecture didn't go dark.

Um, that's even more interesting since we were considering letting it die after this one since the hotel contract we were offered for '09 sux.

Perhaps folks are just seeing how viable it would be to keep it alive? I dunno - I'm not there.

If you need a convention fix, there's always Gaylaxicon... ;-)

G-con 2010?
Are we getting another G-con in California when you come back?

Re: G-con 2010?
I hope so. After San Diego there were a few folks who expressed interest. It might be another "straight concomm for the gay con," but who cares? We throw fabulous show. :) Ideally I'd love to see it in San Francisco where the Gaylaxians have a chapter (which is basically as defunct as Planet LAmbda, but that didn't stop us), but I don't think the personpower exists up there like it would in SoCal.

Oh, let me know when it's time to start throwing bid parties, would you please?

Re: G-con 2010?
I can just see the San Diego in 2010 party signs with a little tiny asterisk explaining it's a Gaylaxicon bid, not a Worldcon bid. Watch the heart palpitations!

Re: G-con 2010?
Actually, you should bid for a Gaylaxicon, Westercon and Nasfic, all rolled into one. It'll be great. Call it Gaynastercon or something.
