WTF?

Hey, guess what, some of my ignorant friends? Pictures of "fat chicks" aren't funny, and treating them as if they were is insulting and demeaning. Please stop. Thanks.

Srsly. Literally two people within an hour of each other. They're chicks. They're fat. We get it. It's not funny. And you're pathetic for thinking it is. Thanks.

Makes me look at some people a little differently, you know?

Thanks for sticking up for us...
I wonder if you just collect us fat girls up as friends. Really is the best you can do for humor is pictures of fat chicks (or any one else different) that's so lame. As e-mail forward I prefer silly cat pictures.

When I was 19 I decided that my humor would have a point. I don't know if that was right. I think now that I am middle aged I have to change it. I would like it if my humor could be funny yet unhurtful. It's actually a pretty high standard.

Re: Thanks for sticking up for us...
I think it's a fine standard. I can't stand humor where the someone is made to be mocked or made fun of or made to feel uncomfortable beyond their control - it makes me squirm because I know how *I* feel when people do that to me. Now other people, when you're in on the joke (for example, Lisa Lampanelli), that's another story, but pointing and laughing? Not my thing.

Besides, I have too many dear, wonderful, and fabulously large friends to even understand why pointing and laughing at a fat person is the least bit funny. It's just... not. Ya know?

As an Ex-over weight person, I totally understand how horrible it is to be made fun of because of my size/weight.

I really hated when people do that to others, I think those people need to do what Gwyneth Paltrow did for that movie "Shallow Hal" and go out to town for 24hr in a fat suit, and see how they like it when people made fun of them and the way people look at them, it's a horrible thing.

I'm very, very lucky to have big friends in my life who have taught me - not by word, but by the way they live their lives - that that kind of pointing and laughing is just worthless. Ugh.
