Well?

I'm concerned. Everyone on my friends list that's read Deathly Hallows over the weekend has said they'd read it, but no one's ooh'ing or aah'ing or saying they loved it or hated it or... well, nothing. It's just like, "Yeah, read it." What's the deal? Is it good or not? Is it satisfying or not? TELL ME AT LEAST THAT, DAMN YOU!

In other news, I'm at work. :(

"I loved it. It was better than CATS. I'm going to read it again and again..."

Extremely satisfying. I'm trying not to spoil it.

I'm posting a spoiler filled review later behind a cut.

Go read it.

Well, no, I don't want it spoiled, I just want to know if it was GOOD or not.

I liked it. A lot. I found it very satisfying with two exceptions.

However, if I say anything that even remotely looks like a spoiler, artslave will murder me in my sleep. So I'm not talking about it much.

My mom and I read our respective copies over the weekend. We agreed it wasn't edited as thoroughly as it should have been, but the ending was *extremely* satisfying. Everyting wrapped up nicely.

(Mom ran for tissues a couple times.)

When has she ever had a good editor? Oh, that's right - before the thing started making MILLIONS.

Hey you, long time no speakie! :)

I only read the first two Potter books, though I *eventually* plan to read further. My sister was over the house yesterday, and I noticed she had the last book. I went straight to the ending, but when she saw that she gave me such a scolding I couldn't concentrate on the story. I'll just have to assume that Ralph Fiennesdemort doesn't win. :)

OMG! Hi! :D

Read the whole series - it's really quite good. I also recommend the audio versions - quite entertaining. And I haven't seen "Goblet of Fire" the movie yet, so that's something to look forward to (and eventually seeing "Order of the Phoenix").

There's a thing which to me is a giant gaping plot hole, which I can think of multiple plausible resolutions to, but which is never resolved, and it's bugging me too much to gush. However, it doesn't seem to bug anyone else as much as it bugs me. The details are behind the cut in my post.

Is it a major spoiler, or just a hole?

JK Rowling proves once again that she knows how to put a plot together and Harry is exactly the same book-Harry that we've grown to know and love. I absolutely loved the book. My only real gripe was that I had to read it fast because I didn't want to be spoiled on the net. :(

Yes, very good. Very fitting. A lot of what you'd expect, a little that you wouldn't expect, and overall a great end to the series.

If JK ever writes adult fiction I'm so there.

I'm not reading it yet either - with pennsic and everything else I'm waiting for it to come out in paperback when i will complete my collection and read them in order. I've read them too haphazardly to keep things straight. And the movies don't cover enough of the book to help with plot that much.

So I've successfully avoided anything spoilerly and I'm keeping it that way. Thanks for the gushing though - that's really confirmed that the series didn't slack off at the end. I'm always worried about that - it's happened before.

I won't be buying the hardback, either - waiting for the paperback as well - but after reading the first 3 books a friend suggested the audio books, and I've been hooked ever since. I don't even have the paperback of Goblet of Fire yet (although I should pick it up), as I bought the audio book first, which I plan on doing with this last one as well. And I figure I can listen to at least most of it on my 6-hour drive to Pennsic next Saturday. :)

That's what worried me - after 6 it was "OMG YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHAT HAPPENED!" Here's it's, "Hey, good ending, well done."

I'm gonna give 'er a listen anyway. :P
