A beautiful day in the neighborhood

Today, students ran across our campus naked. En masse.

In other news, today is also Q's first day at his new job - yay! I'm so proud of my honey. Alas, I've had some setbacks at work myself, but I feel some change on the wind, so yay me, too!

Otherwise, life is good. Had a relaxing weekend. Friends came over Friday night, then Saturday night we went gaming with some of my co-workers (American games, but still fun). Sunday we went up to Alexandria for Q's cousin's son's birthday, followed by shopping.

Mom's been busy. We sold Grandmom's house to our cousin, which worked out well for everyone. That was the final matter for her estate, so now they're going to settle everything out with her and her brothers. She's made some concessions my sisters and I aren't crazy about, but ultimately it's her money, and she needs to do what she feels is right, so I can respect that. Once things are final I'm going to take her to a financial advisor so we can keep her happy for the next 30 years or so.

These weird east coast "season" things are, for the first time in my life, affecting me. My eyes have been unusually itchy, leaving me having to wear my glasses, which I detest. And it seems this "springtime" is some kind of urban myth, as we went from "winter" to "summer" in the span of about 37 seconds. I miss my west coast climate. Bah.

Go to your local drug store and get yourself some Ocusoft Eyelid Cleanser. You may have to ask for it a the pharmacy counter, but it is an OTC product. My eye doctor recommended it several years ago when I had a minor infection on my eyelids, it works *very* well at keeping my eyes from being randomly itchy.

Use it before you put your contacts in and / or after you take them off, it's recommended to use it 2x/day, but I think I went down to once a day after a few weeks, and now I just use it on an "as needed" basis.

Do you have pollen allergies? I know that in late summer, when the ragweed starts reproducing, my eyes itch constantly.

I don't know, but I'm suspecting that's it.
