Ok you asked for it

1 how would one successfuly raise mosquito larvae inside ones home. I have some ideas but i figure i should ask. and yes i have a reason for it and it does not deal with world domination

2 How heavy do you think a cieling treatment of cardboard and decopaged ricepaper and metalic rice papers and such would weigh and do you think it would be to much for a sorta drop cielingesque thing

3 do you guys have any awesome land or garden snails native to your area and come spring would you ship me some live.?
Feb. 23rd, 2007 02:17 pm (UTC)
1. Check Wikipedia.
2. No more than an average ceiling tile, which would mean finding a slightly lighter board to start with before adding everything else. Sounds keen, though.
3. No idea, but I'll keep my eyes open when I start gardening in the spring.

How are YOU doing?

What's a cow doing in Callahan's Crosstime Saloon, anyway?

Would you come to NV and shoot me if I knit you a pillow with a rainbow holstein on it?

Bonus Question:

Who wins in a fight? Kokopelli or Coyote?
Feb. 23rd, 2007 02:18 pm (UTC)
1. No, how YOU doin'? :P
2. Who knows? The place defies logic.
3. Alas, yes.
BONUS: Do you really think Coyote would even bother? (Unless there was some amusement value, I suppose, but still...)

What... is your quest?

What... is the capital of Assyria?

What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Feb. 22nd, 2007 11:40 pm (UTC)

Feb. 23rd, 2007 02:19 pm (UTC)

1. Are you starting to feel more acclimatized to the east coast again and is Q also getting used to it?

2. If there were a small SF con in Blacksburg, VA on say, March 30th-April 1st that people you knew would be at, would you go?

3. When are you coming back to this coast?
Feb. 23rd, 2007 02:22 pm (UTC)
1. After a year and a half, I'd sure hope so! We still miss sunny SoCal, though. :)
2. As far as I know we've got nothing planned that weekend, so there's always a possibility. Plus I know we'll have a little extra cash at the end of March, so...
3. SOON! Q wants to come back at the latest in June for the Rock & Roll Marathon, but I'd like to come back sooner and clean out my storage unit - I'm missing my games, books, movies and some clothes! :(

1. How does one infer the true nature of an object if perception is always suspect?

2. Does pragmatism lose its definition if it is open to degrees of correction?

3. If toast always lands butter side down, what would happen if you tied it to the back of a cat?
Feb. 23rd, 2007 07:05 am (UTC)
Okay. I gotta weigh in on #3: You would have finally achieved a 0-gravity situation. The butter side of the toast would equalize with the cat's feet and the poor thing would find itself suspended midair! ;-P
Feb. 23rd, 2007 02:27 pm (UTC)
That's not 3 questions. :P
Feb. 23rd, 2007 02:27 pm (UTC)
1. There may lie some truth in a scientific method, by not only measuring the object in as best neutral terms as possible, and/or by gathering information on perceptions by a sampling of other peoples' perceptions, thereby deriving a "mean perception" of sorts, which would, one would hope, approximate at least the "surface" nature of said object.
2. No, since pragmatism, at its core, deals with the ramifications of reality on truth; if, therefore, reality dictates something to be one truth where you once thought another truth lie, a pragmatist would have to give in to the truth, rather than his/her perception of it.
3. Perpetual motion.

Not that we need answers to anything really but this game seems fun

1 Why did you paint your rooms those bright colours?

2 You know you should not eat such things yet you continue to. Why ?

3 if you are not comfortable yet in your situation why do you stay in it?
Feb. 23rd, 2007 02:41 pm (UTC)
1. Blame my husband, he's the artist in the family.
2. As Homer would say, "But I'm so sweet and tasty!"
3. To which situation would you be referring? I don't know of one I'm uncomfortable in.
Feb. 23rd, 2007 09:02 pm (UTC)
1 fair enough
2 again fair enough
3 work related. You seem occasionally tense and uncomfortable about one of your coworkers
Feb. 25th, 2007 11:03 pm (UTC)
Work isn't perfect, but it's more along the lines of what I should be doing professionally. I also enjoy working in academia again, so I'm willing to put up with a little more. Plus, jobs here are surprisingly scarce - I took a job at a coffee shop just to have a job, and that's nowhere what my career has looked like in the past. Not to say I'm not keeping my options open, but for now, despite some rough patches, the job is ok and worth keeping (we do have a mortgage to pay, after all).
Feb. 24th, 2007 05:31 pm (UTC)
1. What are you doing at this very moment?
2. Who will be the next American Idol?
3. What would be your dream job?
Feb. 25th, 2007 11:25 pm (UTC)
1. Playing City of Heroes.
2. Haven't been watching yet.
3. Playing City of Heroes. :D
