Hooray for Quincy finishing his first marathon this weekend! :)

Boo to stupid daylight savings time making me get up an hour early this morning! >:(

We're very proud. And now he's hooked - he wants to do two a year!

Ooo, and I got to watch his progress online with a virtual marker on a map. It was keen!

It was awesome. I didn't even have to go. :) (Next time I'm going to cheer him on. We both learned a lot about what we need to do next time.)

Not much to tell - he made it in 5:28, mostly because he paced with a friend of his who hadn't trained as much (Q probably could have done it in less than 5:00 if he hadn't slowed down for her). His knees are killing him, but he didn't sweat very much. And needless to say, the outfit he went shopping for ahead of time was faboo. :D

Me, I liked all the freebies. It was like being at a large sci-fi con or Pride with all the goodies and such. Whee!

No, no -- this was the extra-sleep change, not the short-sleep change.

Regardless, I got up an hour early - I went to bed without looking at the clock as soon as we got home and set the alarm for 5:15, which was really 4:15, so I ended up getting up an hour early that I *could* have spent sleeping. Bah. BAH!

Better than the spring change in my book, though. Life would be simpler with neither, except for all the automated systems that would break now. Worse than Y2K.

Well at least I was up *early* instead of late. :) A pox on Ben Franklin!

That happened to me, too, this morning. Around my normal wake time I woke up panicking because it was so light out so obviously I missed my alarm...then I got about 50 minutes of half-sleep because I still didn't trust my clock and kept looking at it every ten minutes or so.

By normal, I mean "pre-Standard Time", of course.
