Hoist. Petard. Do the math.

Wow. Foley's doing some major backpedalling. First quitting because of sexual e-mails to minors, then entering alcohol rehab, and now saying he's gay, he was molested by a priest, and he was drunk when he sent the e-mails.

Poor little conservative. I wonder what his voting record was on gay rights? {snicker}

You know, I honestly don't think this has anything to do with whether or not the man is gay. I think this has to do with power. I think people like Foley get such a massively inflated sense of their own self worth that they believe they are entitled to basically whatever they want. Women, boys, drugs...whatever, he has shrimp all the time, now he wants lobster.

It is often pointed out that rape is more about power then sex, and I think the same is true here. These are very powerful people who view the world as their play pen, and people as their toys. Gender at this point becomes entirely irrelevant, and being gay, merely and excuse.

unfortunately I have been too busy to even watch or read the news but am getting little bits of info off my friends list. There sems to be a list of IM convo's he's had but it reads so rediculously I am wondering if they are real or people are making fun of the situation. Do you have a brief synopsis of what the hell is going on?

geez, what irritates me (besides the obvious) is that everybody calculates the best time, strategic hit wise, to release information like that. They should have addressed this WHEN they knew about it instead of waiting until the time was perfect, just before the election.

That's what irritates me.....imagined conversations like this:

"Yeah we totally have the goods on this guy! We have IM conversations, we know what he's been up to and we can stop him and get him out of office and prevent more teen boys from being traumatised!"

"No wait! Let's wait a year until the elections are at hand."

"Oh yeah, that's a better idea."
