Finished at last!

Here's what the living room looked like when we moved in:

And here's what it looks like now that I'm finally finished putting in the flooring...

Quite a difference! That nasty off-white Berber carpeting is gone (not to mention those boring white walls), and instead we have a spiffy wood floor now. All I need to do is put in the moulding around the baseboards and the step up from the linoleum from the hallway, and it's finished. Hooray!

Now all I have to do is hang the curtains over the door, put up the entertainment center, buy the bedroom set, touch up the painting around the house, weed the garden...

P.S. I had a job interview Friday. More details to come shortly. :D

Very nice. But I don't see that *gorgeous* gift that galtine1 and I sent you. Is it hiding on a shelf somewhere?

It's on the left wall in our makeshift entertainment center. Once things get a little more settled, you can be assured it will have a featured place. :P

I'd love to redo the linoleum in our kitchen - it's horrible. But definitely check into laminate flooring - it's economical, has long warranties, looks fabulous, and is so easy to put in. I liked Ikea's selections, but everyplace has them now (Lowe's, Homo Despot, etc.).

You don't need any of the fab 5 to the interior thing. Fantastic!

I've got Q - he not only comes up with the ideas, but he actually does the work for them, too (well, as long as it doesn't involve power tools - that's my job).

Thank you! And just to be completely gay, the dining room is orange, the kitchen is yellow, the office is green, the guest room is blue and the master bedroom is purple. :P

It's "cut ruby" from Lowe's. We're loving it, too. A little dark, but the white stucco ceiling and now the tan floor help balance it out. We're looking at tan and off-white furniture to complement it. :D
