Conspiracy!

Yesterday would have been my parents' 47th wedding anniversary.

It was also National Coming Out Day.

COINCIDENCE????

As drewan put it:

We hear
You're queer
Tell us someting we don't already know.

P.S. There's no one left for me to come out to, so I came out to Quincy. He was shocked. SHOCKED I say.

On a more serious note, how do you think Quincy would react if you suddenly came out as bi, or vice versa?

I ask because it seems like bisexuals are discriminated against by both gay (pick a team, dammit!) and straight (I don't care what you say, you are gay!) people.

Bisexuals, like the genderqueer, remind people that sexuality is a continuum.

For some reason, this tends to bunch up the panties of those strictly on either end of the scale.

I don't know why.

Well he was engaged to a woman for 3 years, so although I'm sure he'd be surprised, I don't think it would change anything. Either way I'm still committed to him, so whoever I admire outside our relationship is kind of moot anyway.

And yes, biphobia is mean, and a real shame - it seems both gay and straight seem to want to pigeonhole everyone into black/white subsections, when it's obvious that human sexuality doesn't run that way (see Kinsey). I mean, all of nature runs on a bell curve, which means that people somewhere between all straight and all gay far outnumber those who do.

(My other pet theory is that since there are far more bisexuals than hetero- or homosexuals, this is where the "it's a choice" myth originates - for most people, they really *can* decide on which relationship to pursue, and therefore "choose not to be gay," in a manner of speaking. Just a theory, though.)

Ugh yes. I've been turned down by lesbians before for "sleeping with the enemy" and been dumped by at least one boyfriend because he was scared that I was going to leave him for a woman (this was, of course, in my pre-poly days). Meh. I mainly confine myself to dating other bisexuals these days (both my bf and my gf are)
