At the moment, talkshow as said nothing. Mostly because his computer has been down for 2 weeks. He'll get over it. ;) Welcome aboard! Glad to have you with us on this adventure. I should warn you that being a mod in whateverfaggot wont be full of excitement, in fact it's a pretty quiet job. Even with the drama last month only one person has ever been banned(besides you :P), I take down about one post every two weeks, and haven't really changed much since the beginning. NEvertheless, I welcome your help and look forward to working with you in the future.

Right now I'm going to stir up some shit, there's a certian 27 year old from Australia that thinks of our community as his soapbox, silly faggot thats my role. He doesnt bring much to the table other than negativity, and yells at people rather than give opinion or advice. He's one of 'those guys' that I will piss off with my 'self rightousness' and he will jump all over me the first time I slip up. I've only been a mod here for a few months and I can pick them out a mile away. ;)

Sorry about the rambles, I just woke up and apparently I'm chatty cathy today. I'm just going to put your name in the rule section. Sneak you in there, to cut down on adviceless entries I usually wait until we hit another 100 people before making a state-of-the-community post. When we hit 400, your name's up in lights. ;) Hava a great day my friend!

I hope our emails kiss and make up soon, this not talking business is going to far! ;)
Mar. 7th, 2005 05:04 pm (UTC)
Yeah, that is weird. Hotmail usually isn't that bad. Oh well.
Mar. 7th, 2005 05:08 pm (UTC)
Hmmm. I'm not so sure he'll take it as well as you think he will, but I'll leave it up to you to handle it if he blows his top.

Otherwise, thank you! Very honored, and happy to help out. I promise, as moderator, not to jump down the throats of the members of our community when they ask questions of me. I'll also try not to be tyranical or megalomaniacal, or at least not too often. :)

And as far as what you're about to do, I'll have your back should things get ugly. Hopefully the other members of the community will back you up if this guy is abusing the community (and I think I know who you're talking about).

Are there any guidelines I should know about? I don't want to think that things are quite as hard and fast and set in stone as David said they were, but hearing it from you would be helpful.

Thanks again!

Things are not hard or fast at all. The other mod and I would usually discuss things before taking action, just to make sure we were not over reacting or taking things personally. [it worked for a while hehe] I know that you 'get' the idea behind the community and I have no reservervations.

Speaking of such things, as you saw there is another 'opinion' post and I'm thinking of taking it down since things only breed trouble. Whatcha think partner?

I appreciate the vote of confidence.

As far as the opinion post, I'm ambivalent. I think some useful things can come out of a discussion, but it would have been better if it had been phrased as asking for advice rather than a general discussion. I'll leave it up to you, but would recommend that if you feel it's not appropriate to either freeze replies, or, better yet, put up a new post reminding people that we're an advice forum, not a general discussion forum, and that future discussion-type posts will be deleted.
