An odd 2005 so far

This year is starting out weird. I hear thunder in the morning, I hit all green lights on the way into work, and tonight I paid $1.97 a gallon for gas.

I'm thinking it's the apocalypse or armageddon or something. Been nice knowin' y'all!

I suppose it's all relative (although just for the record it's just over $7 a gallon over here at the moment, and set to rise again in March... Yey Government!)

Yes, but we have a much bigger country and do a lot more driving. Still, $7 a gallon? Yikes!

It's the petrol prices that make us into a nation of walkers :D

We can do that in the larger cities, but elsewhere, if you don't have a car you're screwed. And, independent Merikuns that we are, public transit just isn't as popular as it ought to be.

Luckily, that's where most of our petrol tax goes...
