The Christmas countdown continues...

So busy this week. Ugh.

Yesterday work was productive, although my boss and I had a discussion about work processes - she wants me to go faster, ignoring the fact that she's the one who is often not available to move things along, so they wait on her. I just smiled and nodded and vowed to be more rude in chasing her down. That'll learn 'er!

Spent part of lunchtime calling the Medians and, yes, God help us, we're doing a white elephant at the party/Margibtinlin annual meeting on Thursday. Of course, with us, the tackiest, ugliest, and/or most inappropriate gift will be the one everyone steals. I'm just hoping whatever sex toys make it into the pile aren't re-gifted. Ew.

After work I went to not one but two Wal*Marts, as mentioned earlier. I also hit K-Mart, Fry's and Best Buy (again). I was rather ticked that I kept finding things I'd already bought (boughten?) at significantly lower prices, so I'm actually returning things already. I'm also irked I can't find those last one or two items I need for my nieces and nephews. BAH! HUMBUG!

At one point when I hadn't yet eaten dinner I was talking to Q and was struck with a fit of the giggles in my car. He thought I was high. That just made me laugh harder.

Then I got home, sorted through my goodies, and realized I'm getting sick. BLAH!

Today it's exchanging gifts at work, and although I'm supposed to go shopping with LYC at Fashion Valley I think I might bag out - I don't want to get sicker, I still need to pack, and the few things I still need to get I can get back east.

I leave tomorrow morning at 6:18 am.

Have a safe, fun and happy holiday! I know you'll enjoy your time with Q and your family!!! :)

Damn skippy. What are your plans?

Oh, and I'm still mad at you for disabling comments in your last entry. FOO!

Tomorrow night is Les Miserables, Thursday night is Christmas with Andy, Friday morning is the buttcrack of dawn flight to VA (with the 4 hour layover during which I plan to fully enjoy Return of the King). Then Christmas at home, lots of videogaming and hopefully Unfortunate Events. I get back Tuesday night, work Wed. and then have until NY off, which will involve lots of WoW, and whatever else strikes my fancy, finishing off with a fencing tournament on 1/2.

No, I'm not busy at all! :)

We are, BTW, planning on going to Disneyland on 1/1.

Sorry it bugged you about the comments. I was in a mental place where that was the right thing to do. ;)

I get back on 1/1, so that won't work. What's Andy doing for NYE?

And it's ok, I'm just jokin' ya. :D

Have a good trip and a great time, and hope you get past being sick soon. I'm off to Maryland myself, though I get a five-hour drive rather than a five-hour plane trip.

Where in MD will you be?

And I wish it were only 5 hours - more like 8. Blah.

Timonium -- a suburb on the north side of Baltimore, where my parents live.

Eight hours? Yike! I presume you get to connect somewhere then?

I think I still win: leave LAX at 7am, arrive ROA at 7:30pm. It's that CLT layover that's a killer. I could drive from CLT to ROA faster than that, but they'd kill my inbound.... :(

We'll be about 2 hour due south of Baltimore. Ugh.

And yes, the layover is somewhere, but since it's the same plane I'm not sure where. Probably Denver or Cincinatti.

Ayup - believe it or not, that's YOUR job: to chase her down and make her give you the stuff you need to get your own job done. Once you accept that real-life truism (as unfair as it is), life is much more amusing and far less frustrating.

Doh! Was that a soapbox? Sorry. Hugs 'n stuff. See ya soon! Mine will not be the tackiest Median gift. I'm re-gifting (not a sex toy!) because I'm po' but at least I have a roof over my head and somebody to call ifn it leaks.

She told me to be rude, but if she's physically not there it's kind of hard, especially since I don't know where she is most of the time. Argh. But yes, I accept it as a fact of life and will work around it. :)

AH! I see your point entirely. Being physically not present does present a problem. So, does she have a leash cellphone? Will she let you call her?

Just being a devil's advocate. You're already several steps ahead of my advice I'm sure

She's usually just out wandering around the office, or off to a meeting, or late into the office, or (you'll appreciate this) behind her little screen with her door locked "expressing herself," as t'were. And I do use her cell phone when I know she's out of the office, but it's usually that I need her to review and sign something to move it to the next step (although I've signed her name before with her permission, but not often). Fortnately I think her laptop is now permanently connected to her, so dropping her an e-mail usually gets a quick response (and yes, I've sent e-mails asking where she is!). :)

Too funny! You have things well in hand I see :)

"Spent part of lunchtime calling the Medians"
I don't remember getting a call.....

I was calling folks going to the party about doing the white elephant, not relaxing on the sunny shores of the Florida coastline. :P
