My silly Q

Important safety tip, kiddies:

When my cell phone loses signal and I need Quincy to repeat something, it's ok for him to get cranky and refuse to do so, but when he falls asleep on me while I'm in the middle of a conversation and I have to wake him up and he wants to know what I said, it's not, repeat not ok for me to refuse to do so.

That's only fair, you know.

;)

(My honey is so cute when he hands me ammo to use against him when he's being silly!)

Edited to add: Did I mention how easy he said it was to fall asleep while I was talking? I didn't? Well I am now. ;)

I fell asleep on the phone with Mom once, but never with Andy. Fortunately, though, we're not three time zones apart. :)

This is the second time he's done it to me, too. He tried to turn it back on me because I talked for several minutes and didn't bother to check on him, but I'm not buying it. He's so kyoot! :D

Of course now every phone conversation will be liberally peppered with, "Honey, are you still awake?!?!" ;)

A lot of the conversations on my cell phone are peppered with "you there?" just because one or the other end will lose signal periodically. So I can indentify. But I suspect you'll be rubbing it in a little... (smirk)

"Can you hear me now?"

I do most of my phone talking in the car (with a handsfree set!!!) because it's generall the only window I actually have free time to talk, and I say that a lot. Verizon picked a good ad campaign, I tell you!

Yes, well, at least they don't FALL ASLEEP ON YOU. ;)

It's also a good thing I don't fall asleep with people when I'm on the phone in the car, too! :)

You need to communicate via webcam. Then you can see if he's with you or not. And.... umm.... anything else you want to see.... :)

Actually I've been wanting to do that for a while, and they do sell 2-packs for just that purpose. I think it might be easier on him to actually see me in person. I'd want to get mics, too.

I was surprised to find that the "eye-ball" camera I was given as a gift had a built in microphone. I've surprised a couple of men by actually speaking to them online. :)

So check the box, you might have it all in one.

When Alan prattles on, and prattle HE DOES...I just think of other things like, do I need to do laundry? I haven't clipped my nails in 2 weeks. Oh! I need to call Tri. I have to get gas in the morning, etc.

If anything it makes the conversation far more productive. For me at least.

You have an unbelievable amount of patience with Q. The second time someone did that with me, I'd be hanging up. (They get the first one free, but with a warning.) It's amazing how much time you spend in your phone calls cajoling him to act like a grown-up.

JOhn.

It's (mostly) in jest. He may annoy me from time to time, but it's nothing earth-shattering.

If people fall asleep while you are talking to them its because you have a gentle and soothing voice... that's what they tell me.

They lie, but it's a nice lie.

What I mean is that people lie to us, because although we do have gentle and soothing voices (yours moreso than my grating high-pitched whine), that's not why they're falling asleep on us. But it's nice that they lie to us in such a way, yes? ;)

its nice that they give us such a polite fiction. The truth such as, "you called me at 3:30AM my time and if you weren't over 2K away I'd strangle you" or the "I've worked a double shift and my help all took the holiday leaving me stranded so Merry !@#$ X-mass to you, I course I'm falling asleep" are just too harsh.

Good to see you on here too.
