End of the day...

Well so much for cleaning the bathroom - ended up watching a couple of episodes of Family Plots (sometimes that show is very difficult for me to watch), then the episode of DS9 I thought was where Dax dies (which I've never seen) but it wasn't (forgive me, darkscydeDaniel, for skipping ahead - I promise penance for my sin).

Had pizza for dinner. Yay. :)

Had a nice long lovely chat with pinoyboytoyQ, although the poor lad got another write-up today, so I was suitably comforting (wasn't really anything bad, but he's so honest he had to tell his lieutenant and she had to write him up because it was a procedural thing). In better news he's going to see if he has to do some training over my birthday weekend or not, and if not he's willing to come out here - yay! So I'm trying to come up with "with Quincy" and "without Quincy" options for what I want to do for my birthday. Also talked about joining my mother at Walt Disney World for Thanksgiving, which would be keen.

Plus I found out the boxed set of Farscape I ordered actually shipped today, so I got it for $30! Yay!

Still trying to decide what to do for Conjecture/Halloween. Since we have a sci-fi/horror fusion this year, I'm thinking of doing something a little more grotesque. We'll see what inspires me...

I tried to get into Family Plots, but wasn't able to. It seemed like a real cool show and concept, just I think the family grates on me too much.

Airline though is a favorite of mine, and also turned me off to Southwest right as they started flying into Philly.

What gets me is that the family in Family Plots sounds like they're from New York - definitely not from San Diego. They crack me up. :)

If you live in San Diego, Southwest is basically what you fly. They OWN the southwestern US, and they have a pretty good frequent flyer program (no miles, just based on the # of times you fly). Now that they're flying into Philly, I'm guaranteed competitive prices (although I fly into BWI more now to see my partner).

Philly is OWNED by USAir. For how long is another question. If they go kaput, it will be interesting to see what happens. Southwest already added cities and is doing a non stop to Oakland.

I wish there was a closer airport for me, I really hate PHL and try to make it a point to NOT fly USScare. When I go to a city, I try to use the airline I'm going into's hub. Like when I am in SFO in Nov, I'm flying United.

Yup - I've flown US Air(ways) many times from Philly, but Southwest will certainly give them a run for their money.

Indeed.

And the big airlines laughed at these smaller airlines when they started up.

My understanding is that Southwest is the only airline currently turning a profit.

Yes, I read an article about that myself.

Let me know if you make it to WDW. Maybe we'll do lunch.

Probably quite a bit. I didn't follow it religiously when it was on, but I've come to a new appreciation of it in reruns. Daniel has seasons 1-4 on DVD and will be getting the rest, so I've been watching some with him, plus the reruns on Spike. The biggest one I didn't see what Jadzia Dax's death, which is scheduled to be recorded on TiVo on the 28th (I checked last night since I noticed the episode I watched was after she and Worf married, so I knew it was coming up sometime soon).
