Rainbow flag

Saying farewell to an old, disagreeable friend

Interesting to watch the kiddies moving to remove Chick-fil-A from the food service from on campus (they deliver once a week, and given all the latest brouhaha, our little liberal-minded campus took note). Sadly, a smaller bunch have decided to "boycott the boycott," which would be amusing if it weren't so sad (and really, they're just doing it to be contrary - ah, youth). What's even sadder is that none of them seem to be able to come up with a more cogent discussion point beyond, "FUCK OBAMA" and "I'm not a homophobe because I like chicken!" (which, of course, no one is accusing anyone of). They can't seem to answer simple questions put to them, but accuse those who are trying to find an alternative local supplier of being "butt hurt" (pun no doubt intended). I probably shouldn't be posting to the various Facebook pages for and against the idea, but I can't help myself (and fortunately am not in a position of any kind of authority on campus so no one can claim some kind of breach of ethics, plus my militant feminist lesbian boss would have my back anyway).

The saddest part of all is that, alas, this is the final nail in the CFA coffin for me - no more sweet tea, waffle fries and nuggets for me. I was fine with them being a private, Christian-centered business, but if they actively support anti-LGBT organizations and initiatives, and openly discriminate against LGBT people, well, that's definitely the line for me. Ah, well - lots of other companies want my 3-dollar bills! :)
