Weekend review - Friday

I made the best of staying home sick Friday. After sleeping in I finally made it to the MVA to transfer the title and get new plates and all that. And, of course, now that it's officially mine, I festooned it with a rainbow sticker and an HRC sticker. No doubt other gay-like objects will be added as needs warrant. :) I worked on the bills, and finally (after much nagging from everyone it seemed) headed up to Mom's. On the way I got a phone call from magus_nascitur, whose birthday it was - yay! We talked most of the trip up, since he and I are quite the yakkers. Got up to Mom's, watched some TV, and headed to bed.

Weekend review - Saturday

Saturday I got up relatively early, and our family friend William came over to help us put up my mom's reed fencing. She's had it along the pool for years for some added privacy, but it needs to be replaced every 7 or 8 years, and it was time. It went up quicker than we thought, I think because it was lighter than we thought. Unfortunately she was about 8 inches short, but we'll figure something out. After we finished I cut her entire lawn for her, then she took me out to Applebee's for dinner, followed by shopping at Lowe's for house stuff. After we got home I fiddled some with her TiVo, then went through some boxes she wanted me to get out of the house and watched TV.

Weekend review - Sunday

Sunday William came over again to finish fixing the pool filter which had sprung a leak in one of the pipes. After that we finally put up the magnetic knife holder Mom got ages ago, and I have to admit it's pretty keen. When we finished we went and picked up Marlene, and we all went for a late lunch to Macaroni Grill, which was pretty decent Italian food. When we got home I did a few more little things, packed up some stuff, and headed home. The rain was pretty bad at points, but I went down 301 instead of 95 and I think I managed to avoid a lot of congestion that way (plus it's a prettier drive). When I got home I saw that Q had finished putting almost all of his figures into the display cases, and that he cleaned the office top to bottom (I wasn't happy he cleaned off the entirety of my desk, as I really can't stand it when people mess with my stuff, but his intentions were good so I'll get over it). It was nice to see Mom, but it was equally nice to get home to my honey. :)

Update for today

Not much planned for this week except a lot of house-related stuff. One of my projects is to do something with the front yard, including putting in bushes in our tiny little border, and putting large potted plants (not sure if I'll do flowers or bushes) in my rock border, as every once in a while my rocks start "migrating" again and it irks me how annoying our neighborhood brats are.

This weekend is DC Pride, and the boys are dragging me up for it. Bah. Same rainbow crap, different year. I'm trying to be smart about it, however, and we're getting a hotel close by so that if they want to go clubbing they can stumble their own way home and I won't have to worry about either going to the club (which I hate) or coming back to pick their drunk asses up (and last year I ended up napping in the car while they were at Apex, and that wasn't any fun). Hopefully that will work better for everyone. :)

That's it. What's snoo with you?
