The Fool Card

You are the Fool card. The Fool fearlessly begins the journey into the unknown. To do this, he does not regard the world he knows as firm and fixed. He has a seemingly reckless disregard for obstacles. In the Ryder-Waite deck, he is seen stepping off a cliff with his gaze on the sky, and a rainbow is there to catch him. In order to explore and expand, one must disregard convention and conformity. Those in the throes of convention look at the unconventional, non-conformist personality and think What a fool. They lack the point of view to understand The Fool's actions. But The Fool has roots in tradition as one who is closest to the spirit world. In many tribal cultures, those born with strange and unusual character traits were held in awe. Shamans were people who could see visions and go on journeys that we now label hallucinations and schizophrenia. Those with physical differences had experience and knowledge that the average person could not understand. The Fool is God. The number of the card is zero, which when drawn is a perfect circle. This circle represents both emptiness and infinity. The Fool is not shackled by mountains and valleys or by his physical body. He does not accept the appearance of cliff and air as being distinct or real.

Which Tarot Card Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

Oddly, Fool has appeared in every single tarot reading I've had, except the last one, which is good, because it likely means I've finally gotten out of a rut I may not have even realized I was in until now. Thanks, buddykat!

Also, urban_bohemian showed me a neat resource for online meme-y type blog generator thingies:

It amused me, although I haven't looked through all of them yet.

The times, they are a-changin'...

Since I'm no longer on the Executive Committee of the Long Yang Club - San Diego, and I'm moving at the end of the month, the current president finally got around to changing my status from moderator to member on the two Yahoo Groups I created for the club, one being the general mailing list, and the other being the talk space for the EC. (I was originally owner of both but changed it to a generic LYC-specific Yahoo ID I created for continuity's sake and so things just like this could happen smoothly.)

It's kind of... sad. I got kind of an unceremonious FYI, and then notification that it was done. I mean, it's not like they can't live without me (as they obviously have so far this year), but after three and a half years of running the club, and starting these two groups and seeing them take off so well... well, yeah. It's kind of the end of an era, for both me and the club, in a way. Kind of like letting the baby go off to college, or the first time you realize you're not a kid or whatever.

Hrm. Kind of needlessly maudlin. I guess the whole move thing is only just beginning to sink in. I mean, I gave my notice on Friday, but my boss didn't get around to telling someone on our team until today, and I think the last person still doesn't know. Word is slowly seeping through the office, but some people are afraid to say anything until my boss sends out an official office-wide e-mail saying that I'm leaving (she's likely waiting until she and her boss figure out what they're going to do to replace me until someone permanent is hired, so they can send out the info all at once, which they often do). So it doesn't seem real yet that I've actually given notice. Plus I haven't really started packing yet, today I was a little overwhelmed by the fact that I don't have a job and likely won't really be able to line one up until I get there, but only having a month to do so while trying to formulate an aggressive plan to start remedying my debt...

Yeah. Kind of overwhelming. Need to start doing more constructive, proactive things I guess. Doesn't help that this weekend will be sucked up by Conjecture (which will be fun, of course, and I'll be getting lots of info by working the Art Show for my art pimping business, but it's still Thursday through Sunday night effectively shot for getting anything else done).

Gah. I even still have one load from Pennsic still to do.

Argh. I should go to bed. Blah.
