Gir!

Life goes on, apparently

I suppose I should update. Life does go on, regardless of its little traumas...

Friday night I finally met Brian (urban_bohemian) and his friend Sean and we had a nice dinner at Amarin Thai. I bagged out of going out to Rich's with them, though - just came home and talked more with Quincy. (No updates yet - still in a holding pattern, but he will be visiting his family in Sacramento and I'm still planning on going to see him in Baltimore at some point once he finds out about leave and such.)

Saturday I slept in, got up, had breakfast, went to LYC tea (where Yudi finally gave me my Christmas present, a set of Chinese character wall hangings) then dinner at Pizza Nova. Brian was off having a good time without me, and our paths never crossed, but it's all good. His Sunday morning flight got cancelled due to the weather in DC, but last I heard he got an afternoon flight so hopefully he's home safe and sound. (Brian, you're a sweetheart and I adore you. Really. I hope I see you again sometime soon!) Didn't talk to Q all day, though. :(

Today I got up a little earlier than usual as John was having guests over, but I had to hop out to the LYC pot luck at Joe & Tom's anyway. We had our elections for the Executive Committee for 2005, and blessed be I'm not on it - yay! After three and a half years it was time to step down, and it looks like there are very capable people taking my place. Yudi wanted me to come sing karaoke, but I was tired and just came home. I did talk to Q and he sounded in a good mood (has a new gay buddy at work that he's hanging out with now, plus he spent the weekend watching queer films), although we had yet another discussion about making sure we talk every day, even if he (mistakenly) thinks I'm too busy. {sigh} I love that boy. :)

This week should be ok at work - my boss is out Monday and Tuesday. Everyone's been very supportive over the last few days, and it's appreciated. Fortunately the more I hear the less anxious I feel about all this, and we've moved from "OH NOES!" to "OK, so when you get back..." I think that's good.

And now I'm going to bed. :)
