Busy day...

Well, my boss is out of town today, so I lingered in bed a bit, only to discover it's RAINING! Glee! However, that also means that driving was a bitch, so it took a little longer to get to work, but, hey - no one noticed! :D

Had our monthly queer staff association luncheon and discovered that the chairperson is my sister, 'cause we fight like siblings (but in a fun, not-mean way). She's a trip. I should install her as the primary lesbian in my life.

Then this afternoon I finally opened the G'con bank account, which means all those membership checks people wrote to me back at Worldcon at the end of August are finally going to see them cashed and get proper confirmation notices.

Tonight I should go check the G'con mailbox in Hillcrest and get something for Yudi for Valentine's Day, but I have to go down there on Thursday anyway, so I may just wait. Nothing planned tonight, except to clean up a bit - one of the shelves in the unit in my bedroom gave way and a bunch of videos and CDs fell on the floor in the middle of the night.

Then this afternoon I finally opened the G'con bank account, which means all those membership checks people wrote to me back at Worldcon at the end of August are finally going to see them cashed and get proper confirmation notices.

Nothing planned tonight, except to clean up a bit - one of the shelves in the unit in my bedroom gave way and a bunch of videos and CDs fell on the floor in the middle of the night. <grrr!> Dammit I need furniture! Tomorrow is gaming (we start playing Champions again, which means I really ought to finish my character, Emotion Control), Thursday is game night with LYC at David's coffee house, Friday night is out with Yudi, and Saturday morning I'll head up to Gallifrey, where I'll man the fan table and room party for G'con Saturday night. When I head home Sunday I may stop at Disneyland if I'm up for some fun. I have off Monday, but I'm probably going to spend all day taking tours of hotels so we can finally pick one - I want a hotel and a date by Condor, dammit! People are getting tired of the fact that I have no hotel, date or GoH (but they buy memberships anyway).

So, um, yeah. Oh, and the person who gyped me on eBay left me negative feedback when I left him neutral feedback (vindictive much?), and Dr. Laura is a tool .

Now you know why we call them "Bookshelves of DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO*pant, pant*OOOOOOOOOOOM!"

It's a condition that relatively easy to fix (all it takes is a couple L-brackets and some screws), but it won't be a permanent fix and they're pretty ugly to boot. Not bad for free, but I certainly wouldn't pay for them. Well, I might pay someone to haul them away... :-)

"I'm gonna sing the doom song!"

It's ok, but it just reinforces my need to Ikea. I'm glad I'm able to pull off Gallifrey and Condor cheaply, and I may have taken a trip to Seattle off my schedule (and Florida isn't looking likely, either), but I still need to keep a tight budget. If only my landlords weren't such villains! "You must pay the rent!" "I can't pay the rent!" Oh, the drama!

;)

Two things...

it just reinforces my need to Ikea.

Since when did "Ikea" become a verb?

and my response to

"You must pay the rent!" "I can't pay the rent!"

Where's the handsome hero to come dashing in, putting the prop under his chin, a la bowtie, to exclaim "Don't worry, I'll pay the rent!"?
