Mock me not, or I shall smite thee!

(Say, wanna bid Minneapolis for 2008? If you do it soon you can beat out Atlanta.)

"What's he doing?"

"He's making obscene gestures and licking the glass."

What exactly is the gaylactic network? I've been pointed to the websight a few times, but it doesn't say much...

That'll be changing under my leadership, mark my words.

The Gaylactic Network is the national GLBT sci-fi/fantasy organization. Its main purposes are to promote the genres, and encourage queer fandom. The biggest thing it does is oversee Gaylaxicon, the annual national convention (I was Chair for 2004 in San Diego). It also helped start the Gaylactic Spectrum Awards which honors GLBT-positive genre writing. We also help form affiliate chapters all over the country - currently there are chapters in LA, Boston, Minneapolis, DC, San Francisco, Toronto, Niagara Falls, and soon to be in Atlanta and San Diego.

Under my tenure I'm really hoping to truly become "the home of gay fandom," not only on the net but out in the real world, too.

The 2005 Gaylaxicon will be in Boston (dracut is Chair), 2006 will be in Toronto, and Atlanta is looking to put together a bid for some future year. Personally I'd like to see it go to Minneapolis, LA, San Francisco, and somewhere else in the midwest. :)

At first glance I read that as:

"I'm hoping to become 'the queen of gay fandom' not only in bed but out in the real world too."

Guess I need my glasses adjusted - LOL!

Congrats!

And now you must make all your subjects buy Gaylaxicon memberships so they can prostrate themselves at your feet when you hold audience.

Sounds fun doesn't it... ;-)
