"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls..."

Listening to Walt Disney World's Main Street Electrical Parade and grinning like an idiot. :)

Aww! :)

Are they still doing it once a week at DCA?

No no, it left DCA right before all of the construction started in earnest. The nighttime thing is now World of Color (which is its own kind of special coolness), which is twice nightly in the summer, once nightly in the off season. The only parade is the Pixar Play Parade during the daytime.

Which reminds me, when you do make it out here you're not going to recognize that park. The picture in the icon on this post? Not possible to take anymore.

Oh so many things, my friend!! :)

Paradise Pier was rethemed to a more Victorian feel. I don't know remember if Toy Story Midway Mania was up during your last visit, but it was the first of the avalanche of changes. Most of the attractions had facelifts, The Little Mermaid ride opened, and a new set of restaurants replaced the old ones. And of course at night is World of Color (think the Bellagio water fountains, only with color and Disney music and a roller coaster and ferris wheel to use as backdrop), giving the park a can't-miss nighttime show.

The Sun Plaza has been razed and in its place Buena Vista Street is the new entry to DCA. It's a more Hollywood Studios feel, complete with Red Car Trolley service from the front gate back to the Tower of Terror. The centerpiece is the Carthay Circle Theatre, housing a really nice restaurant and lounge. There's also Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Cafe, where they serve Starbucks drinks inside the park (it actually works well).

And of course the newest bit is Cars Land, a truly amazing land based on a movie many people have forgotten (but it makes me want to go re-watch it!). It's got three attractions (Radiator Springs Racers, Luigi's Flying Tires, Mater's tractor spin), and some of the best theming in restaurants, shops and atmosphere Disney has done in years.

Oh, and there are no more tortillas: they just opened a Ghirardelli shop there instead, which is a lot less "free samples in an empty walkthrough" and a lot more "om nom nom and a crowd." :)

So much to see and do!
