Another page in gay TV history

Comedian Alan Sues of "Laugh-In" fame dies at 85.

Sad to see such an icon leave us, but happy he lived to a ripe old age. I think back to the fabulously campy TV personalities from when I was a wee gay boi - Paul Lynde, Charles Nelson Reilly, John Inman, hell, even Jim J. Bullock. They paved the way for a ton of acceptance, even if they weren't out during their careers (I mean, everybody *knew* - you could tell they were laughing with us, not at us). Later actors like David Hyde Pierce and Sean Hayes and Nathan Lane and Scott Thompson all owe them a debt of gratitude (and inspiration, I'm sure). Fey and sissy, I love and remember them.

Edited to add: Oh, hell, just saw that Harry Morgan died, too. Blah. Not gay, but still a memorable actor.
