Uh-oh...

Well, crap. I finally did an inventory of the dolls I own, and I've gone over 10. By some counts, that makes me a collector.

HOWEVER, I'm getting rid of at least one, if not two of them, so nyeh. I'm back to under 10. And I have YET to actually buy a doll for myself - they've all been bought for me*, so double nyeh.

P.S. SLEEPY IS A PERFECTLY LEGITIMATE COLLECTIBLE. You know who you are... :P

*Don't bother stating the obvious, because I'M COMFORTABLE WITH THE DISTINCTION.

The only ones that stayed in the box are the Star Trek ones, 'cause there's a background. One of them is also going to be customized into a winged man when Q finally gets around to doing it for me. The rest are NOT A COLLECTION. NOT. Very important distinction. ;)

Exactly - GIFTS, even. If you're not actively collecting them on purpose, and people just give you dolls, that's not COLLECTING. Of course.

Thank God Gene went out of production. Quincy went for someone to the last convention and it was perfect - someone else paid his way in (and therefore got all the dolls), he wasn't interested in her anyway, and they aren't making any more. I like that kind of doll convention! :) (He collects Tonner, if you know anything about dolls.)

Fortunately Q sticks to the budget I allow him, so if he wants to spend "his" money (although really it's ALL *our* money), he can, and he's usually quite wise with his expenditures (waits for sales, trades, picks up stuff cheap on eBay, shops around, etc.). Still, $175 for one doll does make me die a little inside...

Do my Monty Python 12" fully articulating figures count as dolls? If so... I have a collection. Should I be ashamed?

Feel free to be proud. Me, I'm in denial NOT A COLLECTOR.

What sort of dolls do you collect?

BTW 1) My mom for the next upcoming Friday says she'll pick our friend Danny Goodisman up. Danny and I are wondering if you will be able to take him back like last time.

2) Last Friday was the last Deale Game Night. A shame. :( Pierce says he'd rather just go back to the one WW2 strategy he's enjoyed since he was 15 and misses that game. So the Deale Game Night is no more. Looks like it's just going to the St. Mary's group every other Friday.

Q collects Robert Tonner, which are mostly what I have (and they've been gifts from him).

I got Danny's message but haven't had a chance to call him back. If you can't take him back, I'll check with Q that we don't have anything early the next day and, if not, I can take him up (it was a bit of a haul last time - about 2 hours round trip).

And I did get an e-mail from Pierce, but I don't blame him if they weren't getting much of a turnout. I'm glad we seem to be doing pretty well so far so we don't have to make that kind of decision.

I'll let Danny know what you said next time I see him online. Either that or I'll pass this along to my mom tomorrow because she'll email him about picking him up on Wednesday night.

Yeah I'm glad there's at least the other group. Love those Game Night Fridays, because it's a good way to unwind from the week.
