Fascinating legal developments in these cases. Basically, the 9th circuit has used SCOTUS' ruling in Windsor to say, hey, you can't discriminate against someone because of their sexual orientation any more than you can because of their gender or race, be it selecting a jury or allowing them to get married. As the article says, legally this is a huge step forward for equal rights in this country, and a lot of people don't even realize it. So, um, HOORAY! :)
